Robert E. Chew, P.E.
Advisory Board Member
Mr. Robert E. Chew serves on the advisory board for Sentry Logistic Solutions. He has more than 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology development, specifically in the areas of commissioning, qualification, validation and project management. Mr. Chew’s expertise strengthens Sentry’s competitive position and ensures that the company’s validation and commissioning processes and cold storage facility comply with industry regulations.
In addition to his role on Sentry’s board, Mr. Chew serves as vice president for Commissioning Agents, Inc. In this position, he provides strategic counsel for global pharmaceutical companies looking to streamline qualifications, validation services and training on baseline commissioning and qualification guides. Prior to working for Commissioning Agents, he held a variety of executive leadership positions for Performance Solutions, Inc., including vice president and pharmaceutical services business area leader. In these roles, Mr. Chew provided commissioning and validation services in the areas of parenteral, sterile, bulk and utility operations.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Chew held leadership positions with Sonalysts, Inc, including senior analyst and project leader. He also developed software quality assurance programs for the Department of Defense and directed a Sonalysts’ company field office providing engineering design and CADD services. Mr. Chew began his professional career as division officer in the U.S. Navy, serving on a nuclear submarine.
Mr. Chew received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering cum laude from Case Western Reserve University. He has authored papers and presentations on computer validation, design qualification, project management, facility lifecycle, regulatory requirements and integrated commissioning. He is a registered professional engineer (PE) and a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE) board of directors, as well as various national and international committees and task teams.
