Dr. Michael P. Silvon is a member of Sentry Logistic Solution's advisory board. With 20 years of executive management expertise in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, his counsel on biotechnology and pharmaceutical cold storage services is an invaluable asset to the company. Dr. Silvon's experience in acquisition strategy and fiscal positioning also make him uniquely qualified to recommend growth strategies and financial tactics to ensure Sentry's long-term viability.
Dr. Silvon serves as general manager for Charles River Biopharmaceutical Services, a leading provider of solutions that advance the drug discovery and development process. In this role, he leads initiatives designed to strengthen the organization's global market presence, achieve its business objectives and continually exceed client expectations. Previously, Dr. Silvon served as vice president of corporate planning and development for Bioanalytical Systems, Inc. (BASi) where he created and implemented organic and acquisition growth strategies and directed corporate investor relations.
Prior to BASi, Dr. Silvon served as vice president of sales and marketing for Hi-Port, Inc., which specialized in formulating and distributing specialty chemical products. In this position, he helped drive business growth through worldwide sales and marketing initiatives. Dr. Silvon also served as business manager for fine chemicals at ICI Americas/Zeneca and its predecessor Stauffer Chemical Company where he held full profit and loss responsibility and directed global growth for U.S.-based businesses as a key member of the global business team headquartered in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Silvon received an M.B.A. from Sacred Heart University, a Ph.D. in physical organic chemistry from the University of Vermont and a B.S. in chemistry from Loyola University. He also completed post-doctoral fellowships in organometallic chemistry as a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of the Technical University of Munich and at The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Silvon's professional affiliations include the Drug Information Association, Society of Toxicology, American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, American Chemical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
